Author-illustrator of award-winning debut MUMAGEDDON! And the Food Magician.

Sonya studied art and design at Central Saint Martins, London, and has worked as an interior product designer, fine artist, photographer, art director and graphic designer. Like Matilda (often lost in books, dreaming up other worlds), she's been writing and illustrating her own poems since childhood.

Born in Dublin to British parents, she has lived in many places across England, Ireland, Spain, Australia, Costa Rica and Mexico, exploring off the beaten track in search of colour, culture, and all things weird and wonderful. Her love of travel, people, art and storytelling shines through in everything she creates.

Passionate about cooking (and eating, especially chocolate), and the ocean, Sonya is currently on a small Balearic island working on the next instalment of the MUMAGEDDON! series.
